The French Authorities at Pondicherry request information on a certain Josias La Bolloche, who was thought to have died at Masulipatam leaving a large estate.
Resignation of the Comte Du Puy as Governor of Pondicherry - Captain Joseph Cordier succeeds as Acting Governor - he is subsequently replaced by the Vicomte des Bassayns de Richemont - civilities exchanged on these occasions with the Governor of Madras, Sir Thomas Munro.
