Letters 61-64 Major Rennell in London to an unnamed individual enclosing extracts of correspondence from Warren Hastings at Fort William, writing in favour of his conduct in Bengal. Major Rennell worked for the Surveyor General in Bengal and had to return to England for health reasons.
Letter 163-164 Captain Whitman in London to the Court outlining the impediments which prevented his raising German recruits for the Company and the measures which will have to be adopted to carry on this service. Requests to return to India overland if he is not going to be employed in Europe. Related papers attached.
