Madras Medical Board give a generally favourable report, taking issue with the critical observations on Black Town reported to have been made by Surgeon James Lawder.
Death, on 19 Nov 1840, of the Chief of Jamkhandi [Gopal Rao Sahib] - Government of Bombay recognise his adopted son [Ramchandar Rao Appa Sahib] as his legitimate successor - the late Chief's widow [Tayi Bai] to act as Regent during the young Chief's minority
The sum of 1650 rupees to be expended on a lithographic reprint of 100 copies each of four Hindustani works for the use of the junior civil servants of Fort St George College (a list of the four titles appears on p 11)
A manuscript copy of the 'Shah Namah' is sent to London by Shah Kamran of Herat as a present for Queen Victoria, also a letter to the Queen from the Shah's Principal Sultana (an English translation of the letter appearson pp 5-8)
Disposal of the presents sent out in 1832 by King William IV and originally intended for the Ras of Abyssinia - the bulk of them are appropriated for the use of the mission recently sent under Captain Harris to the Red Sea (lists of the presents appear on pp 26-30, 33)
Death, on 15 Mar 1841, of the Nawab of Cambay [Bundi Ali Khan] - he is succeeded by his nephew [Mirza Husain Yawer Ali Khan], the latter's father [Yawer Ali Khan] having waived his right of succession (includes , on p 24, a genealogical table of the Nawabs of Cambay)
