On account of the outbreak of famine in Rajputana the Maharaja of Jaipur [Ram Singh] removes all restrictions on grain traffic in his territory and abandons the collection of grain taxes - Government of India propose that in recognition of the Maharaja's liberality his personal salute be raised from 17 to 19 guns
