In the past the document has been badly affected by damp. This has been consolidated but has obliterated the left hand side of the first folio and also affects the other folio.
Letters from his mother to Clive congratulating him upon his military success and thanking him for 'his kindness' to his sisters, probably the settlements he made upon them.
Statement of approbation signed by Thomas Thynne, 1st Marquess of Bath, recording the King's approval of Robert Needham as Deputy Lieutenant of Salop and authorising Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis and Lieutenant of Salop to issue his deputation.
