Reverse: eight European-style ships with striped flags and sails have Harivallabha’s Hindi verses written on the hulls; the Persian identification is written on the sail of a smaller craft in the centre.
Patamanjari Ragini. A lady sits on a terrace listening to her attendant. The lady is disconsolate for she suspects her lover of infidelity in spite of the assurances of her maidservant. Pavilions are on either side and there is a landscape beyond with a wind-swept lake.
Ramakali Ragini. The lover kneels on the bed before his offended lady holding out his hands as if pleading with her. A canopy is set on the terrace above the bed and there is a pavilion with a chamber on the left.
Lalita Ragini. A youthful lover holding a garland and a floral wand leaves his lady sleeping in a pavilion at dawn; formal flower-beds flank the terrace and a simple hillside is beyond.
Saindhavi Ragini. A young lady stands before a Siva shrine in a landsape with trees and a distant river with boats. She offers a lotus in her right hand holding a trident in her left.
Bangali Ragini. A Shaivite ascetic stands on a terrace near a shrine holding a trident and jewelled bowl; there is a distant landscape with a lotus pool and trees.
Vilavali Ragini. The ‘nayika’ sits on a bed on a verandah with her hands clasped behind her head looking at her reflection in a mirror held for her by an attendant. Another girl holds a ewer and a napkin. Reproduced: Gangoly (1935), II, pl.XXXVIII, fig.B, and pl.LXXV, fig.A.
