Lists of cyphers. Some are numbered, i.e."2d cypher dispatched to Mr Scrafton". Many also give information about the use of the codes, means of disguising the message and notes about the cypher.
A list of letters received from Mr Watts between 28 April and 26 June 1757 concerning the Plassey campaign. The list details the date and number of each letter and states whether the letter was in cypher or plain text.
Copy of a commission dated 16 February 1759 granted by Clive, Governor of Fort William to Robert Clive, Lieutenant Colonel authorising him to hold courts martial and carry out the sentences thus passed.
Copy of a letter to Captain Nathaniel Smith of the Lord Camden authorising the conveyance of Captain Vernon Duffield and Ensign Francis Robertson to England. The letter was signed by W. Alderson on behalf of the President and Council at Fort William; the officers' return home followed their disobedience to orders.
