The document was signed by Clive, but the bottom right corner has become torn off leaving only the initial letter of his surname.
Copy of a commission dated 15 January 1756 granted by Richard Bourchier, President of Bombay, empowering Clive to appoint Courts Martial and to carry out the sentences thus passed.
