Custodial History:: The K series was created for records of institutions in Britain that were connected in some way to the East India Company or to the India Office, although one such institution, Haileybury College, was allocated its own series (J). The K series contained the records of Addiscombe Military Seminary, Pembroke House, Ealing Lunatic Asylum and the Royal Indian Engineering College. The Addiscombe records were later assigned to L/MIL/9 and the Royal Indian Engineering College records to L/PWD/8.
