Six letters with enclosures and supplementary material from Judith Medlicott to Anthony and / or Lady Violet Powell, six letters from Anthony Powell and two from Lady Violet Powell to Mrs Medlicott. The letters are listed with dates and explanatory notes by Mrs Medlicott on folios 1-2.
The correspondence arose from Mrs Medlicott's success in winning the 1988 Mastermind competition broadcast on New Zealand television, in which she answered questions on the specialist topic of Powell's sequence of novels, A Dance to the Music of Time. Additional material includes copies of press cuttings and works of art, and of two entries in Powell's published diaries which refer to Mrs Medlicott. The penultimate item is a letter of condolence on Anthony Powell's death, with Lady Violet's reply.
