The collection includes a number of letters from Stella Benson to her husband, James O'Gorman Anderson (based in China), and a number general letters received reflecting Benson's wide circle of acquaintance (including, for example, Virginia Woolf).
In addition: works in typescript and manuscript, including fiction, journalism and travel-related writing; press-cuttings; a number of photographs and photograph albums; and juvenile material, particularly sketch books, completed on holidays in Switzerland containing drawings and poetry.
The collection also includes a diary of James O'Gorman Anderson (1921-22), and three copy letters (1938) from Anderson to Stella Benson's biographer.
