- Title:
- New Cathedral Psalter Chants
- Scope & Content:
-
'New Cathedral Psalter Chants Nos 81a. 82a. 83a.' (cover title). Music and correspondence pasted into a printed volume comprising copies of three publications by Novello and Company, bound together: 'The new Cathedral psalter chants: the St. Paul's Cathedral Chant Book', 'The new Cathedral psalter chants: for parish church use', 'The new Cathedral psalter chants: for village church use'. The manuscript material mostly consists of chants in close score and letters from the composers of the chants (or their executors) to the publishers. There are also many annotations on the printed music. The letters give permission for the use of chants in these publications, and are pasted into the volume next to the music to which they refer. The manuscript music is autograph unless stated otherwise.
Also catalogued as printed items: see British Library Integrated Catalogue.
