Foliation: ff 71. One modern paper flyleaf and one contemporary (worm-eaten) paper flyleaf at the beginning, all unfoliated. Two contemporary (worm-eaten) paper flyleaves at the end followed by one modern paper flyleaf, all unfoliated.
Dimensions: 290 x 200 mm.
Ruling: 180 x 110 mm, 20 lines per page.
Binding: Half black, British Museum, 20th century.
Decoration: A frame surrounds the text. Illuminated decorated headpieces and initials. Full-page portraits of John Chrysostom, Basil, and Gregory, ff 5v, 23v, and 47v.
Scribe: Εὐθύμιος ἱερομόναχος Νίρος ἐκ Σοποτοῦ (Polites and Polite 1994, p. 436): colophon, f 71r.

Origin: Greece (Northern Peloponnese), written there by Euthemius, a monk, in Sopoto, Kalavryta, and completed on 25 July 1664: colophon, f 71r: ἐτελιώθη ἡ θεία δέλτος ἐπὶ ἔτους ἀπὸ Χριστοῦ ᾳχξδ΄ ἰουλίου κε΄ διὰ χειρὸς καμοῦ εὐτελοῦς καὶ ἐλαχίστου Εὐθυμίου μο...ίου ἀπὸ Πελοπονήσου ἐκ χώρας σοποτοῦ διὰ ἐξόδου θ θ ἧγουν τέσσαρες χιλιάδες τετρακόσια˙ ἀνευ τοῦ κόπου ἦγουν τοῦ γράψαντος (ἂν) καὶ λάχι καὶ εὔρητε σφάλμα εἰς αὐτη εὔχεσθαι καὶ μὴ καταράσθε./ Εὐθύμιος καὶ τὸ ἐπίκλινίρος.

Purchased at Sotheby's, 16 February 1875, using the Farnborough Fund (£3,000 bequeathed in 1838 by Charles Long, Baron Farnborough (b. 1761, d. 1838), a cousin of Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829), founder of the collection.
