Material: Paper (watermark: flower with six petals, without stipe but with additional motif, no close parallels known).

Foliation: ff 197. Six unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and nine at the end. Blank leaves after ff 16 (eight), 107 (six), and 196 (two).

Dimensions: 270 x 185 mm.

Ruling: 215 x 135 mm, 16 or 21 lines per page (main text), as well as interlinear sand marginal notes.

Binding: Contemporary, brown wooden boards covered with stamped leather, blind-tooled, much damaged.

Scribe: Written by an Italian hand.

Decoration: Decorated initials and headpieces, mainly in black ink, but some in red ink.

Source of Acquisition:

Purchased from J. Harvey, 9 March 1878, using the Farnborough Fund (£3,000 bequeathed in 1838 by Charles Long, Baron Farnborough (b. 1761, d. 1838), a cousin of Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829), founder of the collection.
