Foliation: ff iii + 307. In addition, two unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning and three at the end.
Dimensions: 295 x 215 mm
Ruling: 205 x 140 mm, 29-30 lines per page.
Binding: 18th century. Gold-tooled English brown binding.
Script: Written by a group of scribes, possibly as many as 50 distinct hands according to the type-written notes of J. Enoch Powell (ff i recto - iii recto).

Anthony Askew (bap. 1722, d. 1774), physician and book collector: his sale, lot 602.
Michael Wodhull (b. 1740, d. 1816), book collector and poet: purchased at Askew's sale in 1785.

Purchased at Sotheby’s (J. E. Severne sale, of items collected by Michael Wodhull), 11-21 January 1886. Bought using the Bridgewater fund (£12,000 bequeathed in 1829 by Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829).
