Foliation: ff (v) + 242 + (iv).
Dimensions: 205 x 155 mm.
Ruling: 140 x 100 mm, 25 lines per column. Leroy 12D1.
Script: Minuscule in rectangular epsilon style: Canart (1981)
Binding: Red leather, 19th century.
Decoration: Decorated headpieces and initials (ff 2r, 71r, 115r, 189r). Illuminated portrait of St John the Evangelist and Prochoros, f 188v. Titles and initials of chapters in gold.
- Custodial History:

Probably created in the first half of the 13th century: assigned by Carr (1987) 105-112 to the "interregnum subgroup" of the "decorative style" class of Byzantine illuminated manuscripts.
Likely of Palestino-Cypriot origin, given the script (Canart 1981) and illumination (Carr 1987).
f 242v contains a number of erased inscriptions, including one presumably by the scribe: τέλος ἐν θ(ε)ῶ τοῦ τετρα/βαγγέλου.
Purchased by the British Museum on 14 January 1865 from C. L. Merlin, Vice Consul at Athens. Found in a village near Corinth (f 1r).
