Homer, Iliad III 273-285 with syllabification (TM 60833, LDAB 1961, MP3 694)
- Scope & Content:
- A wooden board, painted white and written along the long dimension, with thirteen lines from the third book of Homer's Iliad; on one side Iliad III 273-277, with the words separated by oblique lines. On the other Iliad III 278-285, with words and syllables distinguished with small markings, then large blank space. There are a few insignificant variations from the manuscripts. Apostrophe is always marked.

Materials: Wood.
Dimensions: 180 x 375 mm.
Script: A teacher’s hand, with large letters and some of the initials further enlarged. Slightly slanting to the right, a mixture of large, angular letters and small, round ones. Some ligatures (especially epsilon, theta, alpha, tau) and cursive elements at the end of lines.
