MSS Mus. 287-288. Letters to the conductor Iris Lemare from composers, conductors and instrumentalists. Iris Lemare, daughter of the organist Edwin H. Lemare, co-founded the Macnaghten concerts in 1931, and ran them solely, as the Lemare Concert Series, in 1934-37. She conducted the Lemare String Orchestra, and later co-founded Opera Nova. The correspondents are listed in the index. With a portrait photograph of Lemare by John Vickers, and another photograph of her conducting. For further letters to Lemare, see Add. 59814, ff. 39-51. Her correspondence with Richard Crossman is MS 382 in Warwick University Library. The music manuscripts sold in aid of the Macnaghten concerts are Add. 59797-59814.
