Title:

MS Mus. 1119. Letters to Ernest Chapman from the music publisher Florian Williams and others; 1939-1975, n.d. Names of correspondents are in the index to this catalogue. The letters from Williams were written both during the period of Chapman’s employment with Joseph Williams Ltd (1947-1951), and afterwards from 1971 to 1973. Copies of many of Chapman’s replies are included. There are also letters from the composer David Moule Evans and letters relating to the will of Norah Kirby, friend of John Ireland, and the John Ireland Trust. Partly purchased from and partly donated by Rosemary Dooley, November and December 2002.
