PSALM TUNES; after 1742. Written on blank leaves of William Tans’ur’s publication The Royal Psalmodist Compleat ([Rugby?], [1742?]). The copy, which is printed on one side of the leaf only, is wanting the title page, and the pages are not bound in the correct order of the psalms. The musical additions, possibly all in the same hand, are ‘Psalm the 21, Cortenhall Tune’ (f. 23v), ‘Psalm ye 102, Withcock Tune’ (f. 127v), ‘Psalms [81]’ (f. 144v), ‘Psalm 77’ (f. 147v), ‘Solos Psalm 75’ (f. 157v), with additional musical fragments on ff. 68v, 70v, 94v, 143v. Inscribed with the name of Thomas Goodliffe, often with accompanying verses written in his hand, on ff. 65v, 66v, 67v, 74v, 98v, 131v, and dated 1745/6 (ff. 66v, 74v), 1746 (ff. 65v, 98v), 1747/8 (f. 131v) and 1751 (f. 49).
