PSALM TUNES; early 19th century. Added to William Tans’ur’s Melodia sacra ([St. Neots?]: Engraved, and printed by the Author, and his Son, 1768). An imperfect copy, lacking the title page and several other leaves, with many of the remainder fragmentary. Inscribed ‘William Amps His Psalm Book, June 10 1807 Comberton Cambridge Shore 1807’ (f. 1v), ‘John Amps his book’ (f. 4v) and ‘Ede [or Editha] Coas Comberton December 19. 1807’ (f. 14; all names are also written on several other folios). It is likely that several of the psalm tunes are in the hand of William Amps, and some may be of his own composition. For other later psalm tunes by William Amps, see Add. 50900, ff. 3-22. Presented by the Corporation of Church House, 12 Feb. 1949.
