PSALM TUNES; after 1747. Written on blank leaves of William Tans’ur’s publication The Royal Psalmodist Compleat ([Rugby?], [1747?]). The copy, which is printed on one side of the leaf only, is wanting the title page and pages between ff. 7 and 8. ff. 47, 68, 90, 92 and 94 are fragmentary The musical additions, all in the same hand, are ‘St Paul’s Tune. Psm ye 98’ (ff. 49v, 50v), ‘St Anne’s Tune Psm ye 113th’ (ff. 64v-65), ‘London New Tune, Psm ye 148th’ (ff. 73v-74) and ‘Psalm 42nd Birchington Tune’ (ff. 105-7). With alternative psalm texts written on ff. 22v, 23v, 25v, 33v, 35v, 56v, 57v, 59v, 63v, 75v and 77v, and other non-musical annotations on ff. 12v, 14v, 24v, 29v, 39v, 44v and 55v.
