HYMN TUNES ETC; circa 1761. Inserted between pp. 39 and 41 of the printed volume A small collection of Psalms…sung by the charity-children of…Chichester…(W. Faden, 1761). Nos. 1-21 comprise melodies with bass, in score, of hymns by anonymous composers. Purchased, 8 Dec. 1875.

1. ff. 1b-2. ‘My soul, praise ye Lord’ [to the tune of ‘Hanover’, by Croft].
2. ff. 2b-3. ‘Awake, my soul, and with the sun’ (not either of the well-known tunes).
3. ff. 3b-4. ‘Glory to Thee, my God, this night’. Very similar to Tallis’s setting.
4. ff. 4b-5. ‘All-glorious God’.
5. ff. 5b-6. ‘And are we now brought near to God’.
6. ff. 6b-7. ‘High let us swell our tuneful notes’.
