PSALM TUNES; after 1724. The first printed edition of Israel Holdroyd’s The Spiritual-Man's Companion (William Pearson, for William Dyson, [1724?]) with chants added in manuscript in two contemporary hands on ff. xiiv and xv. The additions are tenor parts for psalms 8, 125, 136, 138 and 104. Several other annotations occur throughout the book. Ownership inscriptions of William Smith (dated 1724) and Thomas Halliday on ff. xvv-xvi. Purchased, July 1870.
