A printed copy of John Bishop’s edition of Messiah (Robert Cocks & Co., [1852]), with markings in Jenny Lind’s hand (in pencil) and manuscript embellishments made for her use by Sir George Smart (in ink). With a dedication to Lind from Smart dated Christmas 1855 (f. ii), a letter to Otto Goldschmidt from Frank Pownell dated 24 July 1899 (ff. iii-iv), publisher’s advertisements (f. v; 8 pp. bound after the score) and a programme for a performance by Lind and others, conducted by Goldschmidt, at Exeter Hall on 5 Jan. 1864 (16 pp.).
