ARNOLD SCHOENBERG: annotated male vocal parts of Gurre-Lieder; published 1912, annotated [1914]. Each of the four male vocal parts is annotated by the composer with instructions for dividing the male voices into four choruses instead of three in the section beginning "Gegrüßt, o König". With a separate leaf of explanatory notes (f. 1), also in Schoenberg’s hand. The annotations were made for a performance in Amsterdam scheduled for December 1914 but cancelled as a result of the outbreak of war. Purchased from Lisa Cox, March 1999.
