Scope & Content:

Drafts and fair copies. Autograph and typewritten. The collection, which was formed by Watkins himself, chiefly comprises poems collected in his seven published volumes of verse, 1941-1968, and is arranged to correspond with the order of these published volumes. Some uncollected and unpublished poems are also included (Add. 54166, ff. 19-63, and passim). The material is listed in detail in Add. 54167. For drafts of a further poem, 1964, see Add. 52594, ff. 85-87, and for letters from Dylan Thomas to Watkins, 1936-1952, see Add. 52612.
