SIEGE OF GIBRALTAR 1727: journal of the Spanish siege of Gibraltar (20 Jan. - 11 June 1727); 1727. The volume is entitled 'Remarkable Occurrences, Dureing The Siege of Gibraltar: With a List of the Forces, etc.: That were employ'd in the Attack & Defence of that Place; Also, the Casualties, that happened on both sides, Between, the 11th of February 1726/7 and the 11th of June following; O.S.' At the end of the volume (ff. 23-28) are lists of British and Spanish forces and casualties, of the Spanish guns and of the British ammunition expended, British stores and British ships which assisted at the siege, with the sources for this information. A plan of the siege (f. 4) with a scale of approx. 1:9600 is signed 'Lt. W. Palmer fec. 1727'. The manuscript is closely related to King's 231 and Add. 29267, ff. 112-125, but contains many significant variants.
