APOSTOL: comprising the Epistle lections for the third week after Trinity until Lent, followed (f. 72) by the Mesiatoslov (Menology) for September to March; late 15th cent. Slavonic (South-West Russia). Imperfect at the beginning and the end. The Menology includes Balkan saints and (21 Dec.) Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow (d.1326), here called Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia. Not described in Ralph Cleminson, A Union Catalogue of Cyrillic Manuscripts in British and Irish Collections (1988). but see Cleminson, Fragments of a Serbian Apostolos in Budapest and their significance for textual criticism. In Palaeobulgarica, XXX (2006), 4, pp. 3-34 passim. This MS has siglum L. Offered for sale at Sotheby's, 29 Feb. 1972, lot 536, and 11 Dec. 1979, lot 43. Purchased of Bernard Quaritch, 3 March 1980.
