DOUGLAS YOUNG PAPERS Correspondence and papers of Douglas Young (b.1882, d.1967), of the British Consular Service; 1900-1941, n.d. Partly typewritten. The papers relate mostly to Young's experience as Consul in Archangel (1915-1918), to his criticism of British military intervention in Russia in 1918, and to his suspension and dismissal from the Service in 1919 and his reinstatement in 1924. The papers were used in A. Rothstein, When Britain Invaded Soviet Russia. The Consul who Rebelled (1979). Presented by Mrs Nina Young, widow of Douglas Young, through Mr Andrew Rothstein, Oct. 1980.
