DISRAELI PAPERS: correspondence and papers of Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield, consisting chiefly of private and semi-official letters to Henry Lygon, 5th Earl Beauchamp, and correspondence with his brother Frederick, 6th Earl Beauchamp; 1859-1880. Including one letter (f. 62) from Disraeli to Mary Catherine, Countess Beauchamp, 1873, and miscellaneous correspondence conducted on Disraeli's behalf by his secretaries, Edward Stanhope and Montagu Corry, acquired by the 6th Earl when acting as Disraeli's secretary, Feb.-March 1873. There are also some notes and endorsements in his hand. Also including (ff. 66-69) minutes taken by Stanhope at a meeting called by Disraeli to discuss action to be taken respecting Gladstone's Irish University Bill. Purchased at Sotheby's, 15 Dec. 1980, lot 127.
