PHILIP IV OF SPAIN: confirmation of the sale, 3 March 1641, to Don Manuel Alvarez Pinto y Rivera, of the lordship of Chilueches (Chiloeches, near Guadalajara) and an accompanying grant of arms; 15 Sept. 1642. Spanish. Calligraphically written, with two fully illuminated pages, the first containing the coat of arms and surrounded by a border of military accoutrements; the second with the letter 'D' enclosing a knight on a white horse killing Moors, and two miniatures of the Virgin Mary and St Christopher, surrounded by a border of nymphs, flowers, parrots and putti. Purchased from Kenneth Nebenzahl, Chicago, 1983.
