GRINDROD DIARY: diary of Mrs Katherine Peterkin Grindrod, née Adamson (1862-1940), wife of George Herbert Grindrod, principally concerning her residence in Siam; 1892-1894. With a typewritten copy, 1982. The preface to the latter (62908 C, ff. 2-3) gives biographical details of Mrs Grindrod, who was one of a group of teachers engaged by the Siamese crown to set up a school for royalty and nobility; she was also the compiler of Siam: a Geographical Summary (1895). Presented by Dr R. D. Hill, at the request of Miss Muriel Grindrod, daughter of the diarist, Sept. 1983.
