Letters mostly addressed to Walter Theodore Watts, afterwards Watts-Dunton, (b.1832, d.1914), critic, novelist and poet; 1845-1939, n.d. The writers, who are listed in the index to the present catalogue, include Alfred Austin, E. W. Gosse, Francis Groome, Jane Morris, D. G. Rossetti, A. C. Swinburne and members of his family, Alfred, Lord Tennyson and T. J. Wise. Included in Add. 70627 are poems by Edgar Fawcett (f. 45), Mary Leith (ff. 79-80), P. B. Marston (f. 93), and W. M. Rossetti (ff. 136, 137). Purchased from Maggs Bros. Ltd., Sept. 1989.
