Dering's Household Book for 1648-1652 is now Add. 22466. For a detailed list of the contents of both see Maurice F. Bond, The Diaries and Papers of Sir Edward Dering, Second Baronet, 1644-1684 (1976), pp. 155-157. Purchased at the sale of Sir Edward Cholmely Dering, 8th Bart., Puttick and Simpson, 8 June 1858, lot 1605, for Sir Thomas Phillipps (MS 14927), and at Phillipps sale, Sotheby's, 1 Dec. 1947, lot 31, by C. E. Kenny F.S.A. (f. i verso). Acquired at the sale of Kenny's library, Sotheby's, 6 June 1966, lot 2189, by Philip H. Blake (autograph note f. i verso) of Barkham Court. Purchased of Messrs. Maggs from the Blakeney Fund, 18 Nov. 1991.
Paper; ff. v+119. 360 x 230mm. Contemporary smooth calf binding, blind-stamped, with raised bands, lightly repaired. Sporadic pagination from 17 to 357: pages 45-48, 83-102, 117-134, 138-140, 151-174, '179'-182, 223-228, 246-248, 287-290 and 297-312 excised and now represented by stubs, one (f. 52) bearing Dering's note 'Cut out by myselfe'.

2. ff. 12-40v. Lands in co. Kent bought and sold by the family; temp. Stephen-1656.
