Title:

Vilím Papers. Papers of and concerning Blazej Vilím, (b. 1909, d. 1976), Secretary-General (1947) of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party and, after February 1948, political exile in London; 1934-1999, n.d. Partly typewritten and printed; mostly Czech, with some Slovak, German, French as well as English materials. The papers have been in many cases annotated by Mrs Mirka Vilím, who was her husband's secretary, and where necessary it has been signalled that some documents are late typed copies. Section E. of the collection includes many of her notes on items and individuals. Official party minutes, reports and circulars in Section B. have been supplemented from the collection left by Vilím's close collaborator Jan Svoboda; Volume XII has been supplemented by copies of items from the collection of Olda Haselman. A further collection of Vilím Papers is held at Churchill College Cambridge. The preliminary listing and indexing of both Vilím collections, by Mrs. Sylva Simsova, is included in Section E. Presented by Mrs Simsova in 1977 and hitherto reserved.
