ENGLISH plays, in different hands, viz.:-
1. The Elder Brother, a comedy [by John Fletcher]. Printed in 1637. The epilogue is here followed by three epigrams. f. 2.
2. "The play of Dicke of Devonshire; a Tragi-Comedy." The scene is laid at Cadiz, circa 1636, the characters being Don Fernando, Governor of Cadiz, Eleonora, his daughter, Henrico Gusman, "Dicke Pike, the Devonshire soldier," etc. f. 30.
3. Play in five acts, without title, in which the characters are Raphael, Treadway, Ashburne, Lord and Lady Averne, an abbat, etc. Apparently autograph; with corrections and passages marked for omission. f. 52.
4. "The escapes of Jupiter," or the stories of Calisto, Danae, Semele, and Alemena; in five acts. In the same hand as the preceding. f. 74.
5. "Edmond Ironside, the English King," or "A trew Cronicle history called Warr hath made all freindes;" with passages marked for omission, f. 96.
6. Tragedy in five acts without title, in which the characters are Charlemagne, Oliver, Didier, Orlando, Ganelon, Turpin, Richard, Gabriella, Bertha, etc.; with passages marked for omission. Imperfect at the beginning. f. 119.
7. "The fatall Maryage or A second Lucreatya;" without divisions into acts and scenes. The scene is laid at Piacenza, and the characters are the Duke, Lodwick, his son, Laura, his daughter, Jaspero, Galeas, etc. f. 136.
8. King Richard the Second; a tragedy. Imperfect at the end. With passages marked for omission. Privately printed [by J. O. Halliwell], London, 1870. f. 161.
9. The Lady-Mother; a comedy. With passages marked for omission. At the end is the note, "This play call'd the Lady Mother (the reformacions obseru'd) may [be] acted, October the xvth 1635. William Blagram, Deputy to the [Master] of the Reuells." f. 186.
10. Masque, in five acts, in which the characters are Time, Age, Will, Juno, Virtue, etc.; dated 5 Aug. 1643, f. 212.
11. "The two noble ladies and the converted conjurer."........."A trage-comicall historie oftentymes acted with approbation at the Red Bull in St. Johns Streete by the company of ye Reuells." Apparently autograph; with corrections. The characters are the Souldan of Egipt, Califfe of Babilon, Lysander, Doron, Justina, Miranda, etc. f. 224.
12. "The tragedy of Nero." Printed anonymously in 1624. f. 245.
13. "The poore man's comfort;" a tragi-comedy. At the end is written, "By R. Dabourne. The poore manna comfort. The ende of the pore manns comfort. By P. Massam." Printed in 1655 as by Robert Dauborne, M.A. f. 268.
14. "Love's Changelinges change;" founded on the story of Musidorus and Pyrocles in Sir Philip Sidney's Areadia, f. 293.
15. "The lanchinge of the Mary, written by W. M., gent., in his returne from East India, e 1632." Apparently autograph; with corrections. At the end is written, "This play called ye Seaman's Honest Wife, all ye oaths left out in ye action as they are crost in ye booke and all other reformations strictly observ'd, may bee acted not otherwyse, this 27 June, 1633.
