"RECORDA ab anno xij Henrici VIII. usque annum xxxviij ejusdem Regis": a register of royal letters, writs, and proclamations; memoranda of acts, ordinances, recognizances, etc., of elections of town officers, and minutes of proceedings at common councils and horn-blowings at Dover; chiefly during the reign of Henry VIII., from the year 1520, with a few of later date. Lat. and Eng. Among the various entries occur:-
1. Memoranduin of the passage of the King and Queen, Mary Queen Dowager of France, Cardinal Wolsey, arid other members of the Court, from Dover. to Calais; 31 May, 1520. Lat. f. 3.
2. "Numerus wardartim infra libertateni portus Dovorrensis et certitudo terrarum in qualibet warda que onerari debent ad servicium domini nostri Regis," f. 4 b.
3. "The names of all the Wardes in Dovorr and the number of landes in euery ward theryn conteyned whiche were charged to the kynges seruyce, videlicet Harry the viiith, who toke shippeng in Dovorr roode in the Swalowe. . . . . . .and the lady Marques of Penbroke, wth a godely nombre of nobylles and perys of the Realme, and landed at Cales and after went to Boleyn, and there laye a tyme, and the Frenche kyng laye in Cales;" 1532, f.112.
