Vellum; early xvith cent. With twenty-two miniatures of fine execution by Flemish artists; and borders of flowers, insects, and jewels. The volume was prepared for the Abbey of Messines, near Ypres, in West Flanders, as appears from the rubric on f. 220, and from the entry in the calendar, under the 8th January, of the anniversary of the Countess Adela [widow of Baldwin the Pious, Count of Flanders,] foundress of the Abbey. See Gramaye, "Antiquitates Flandriæ," p. 182. The dedication of the church and choir is entered under the feast of St. Matthew. Bound in stamped leather, the pattern being in compartinents with the inscripton, 2 Lvdovicus Bloc ob lavdem xpristi librvm hync recto ligavi." Duodecimo.
