Copy of a deed between Ralph, 2nd Earl Verney, and others, securing the property formerly, settled on the marriage of' John Verney, eldest son of the Late Earl, with May, daughter of Josias Nicholson; and on that of Ralph, the present Earl Verney, with Mary, daughter of Henry Herring; 18 June, 1767. A pencil memorandum at the beginning, signed, "J. M. 1792," states that the original deed was lost, or destroyed by Earl Verney; and draws attention to the date of, and erasures in, the deed.
