MEDICAL and other treatises, viz.
1. "The wys boke off phylolosophi and astronomye cont[ri]ued and mad of ye wysest philosophor and astronomyer yt euer was sen ye warld was begon, yt is for to say of ye lond of grece, for in yt land was an ynglys man ful wyce and wyll vnderstandyng in philosophie and astronomye studyd and compellyd yis boke owt of growe [Greek] into ynglys graciowsly." See Sloane MS. 965, f. 143 b. At the end is the note " q. Brunfilld." f. 1.
2. " Of ye xii synys [signs of the Zodiac] and of ye kyndes and what ylke man is ordynd by waye of kynd and predestinacion." f. 9 b.
3. Medical prescriptions, judgments of urine, etc. f. 18 b.
4. " A tretys of surgere after galyan [Galen] ye gud leghe [leach], and he compellys yis boke owt of latyn into ynglys because he had a gud frend yt vnderstod no latyn, and yis tretes tellys of ye pestelens." With the name of Brunfylld at the end. f. 41.
5. " This royll tellys day and owre to bled whan tyme is and for what ned"; followed by "ye days of certane monethes when tyme is to bled," etc. f. 43.
6. " Complecciones hominis astronomie et philosophic secundum galyanum "; followed by prescriptions, etc., after which is the colophon "Explicit liber sirurgie secundum galyane," etc. f. 47.
7. Translation of the treatise of Johannes Platearius " de medicinis simplicibus." Beg.: " Aloen, yt is allwyne in ynglys, yt is hot and dry." f. 49. Paper; ff. 54. Late xvth cent. Small Quarto.
