Foliation: ff. 83 (f. 1 is pasted to the upper cover; without flyleaves).
Script: Gothic cursive.
Binding: Pre-1600. Blind-tooled white leather, in the centre of each cover heraldic arms; clasps.

16th-century owners, Upper Austria: arms in the centre of each cover, Starhemberg (upper cover), and Hohenfield (lower cover).Unidentified owner, 18th/19th century: stamp 'JH' (f. 2).
Bought by the British Museum in 1845 from Adolphus Asher (b. 1800, d. 1853), Berlin bookseller and dealer to the British Museum 1841-1853 (see David Paisey, 'Adolphus Asher (1800-1853): Berlin bookseller, anglophile and friend to Panizzi', in The British Library Journal, 23 (1997), 131-53), using the Farnborough Fund (£3,000 bequeathed in 1838 by Charles Long, Baron Farnborough (b. 1761, d. 1838), a cousin of Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829), founder of the collection (note inside upper cover).
