Twiss, Rolls series, 1873, vol. ii. p. 16. Preceded and followed, as part of the same MS., by (a) Royal charter to the borough; 1 July, 12 Edw. [III., 1338]. f. 3;-

On ff. 1-2 is inserted, in a hand of the end of the 14th cent., a copy of an Inquisition of the port of Ipswich, 3 Rich. II. [1379]; on f. 52 is a note of the value of a talent of gold, assessed on the occasion of William Bateman, Bishop of Norwich, incurring a fine of thirty talents in 1347 (see Blomefield, Hist. of Norfolk, vol. iii. p. 507), followed by a few verses in Latin, English, and French; and on f. 54 is a confirmation, by Richard II. or Henry IV., of Edward II.'s charter to Harwich, co. Essex. Vellum; ff. 55. xivth cent. Apparently written by or for Paul Le Ros or Le Roos, who was Town Clerk in temp. Edw. III. (see ff. 3, 14, and Davy's Suffolk, Collections, Add. 19,093, f. 1). With initials in red and blue. On f. 55 b is the date 18 March, 1731/2, with the names Edward Syer, John Marten, and R. Love. Small Folio.
