Portion of a sketch-book of compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven containing chiefly sketches of the quartets (op. 130-133). There are also several in 3/8 time.

Sketches (chiefly the violin part) of the following quartets for 2 violins, viola, and violoncello, and a canon, by Beethoven.
1. In B flat (op. 130). First movement, ff. l-3b, 5, 5b, 8, etc.;— and possibly the Danza Tedesca. ff. 6-8, passim.
2. In C sharp minor (op. 131). 'Adagio.' f. 4;— and possibly the movements in 3/2 and 9/4 time (from the Finale), ff. 12b-16b, passim.
3. In A minor (op. 132). The words 'poco adagio — Allegro appassionato' appear to refer to this quartet. f. 11.
4. In B flat (op. 133). Possibly fragment of Allegro molto con brio. f. 4 (line 1).
5. A canon. 'Alle gewaltsame That misfällt ja den Göttern. Tugend ehren...nur und Gerechtigkeit nützt den Menschen'; apparently intended to be sung to some musical notes in the key of F (2/4 time). ff. 10, 10b.
