WARDROBE DAY-BOOK for the year 18 Edw. II., ending 7 July, 1325, being the Diet-Roll of Robert de Holden, Comptroller of the Kin-'s Wardrobe, the Keeper being Robert de Wodehous (cf. Add. MS. 35,114). In Latin. The roll gives for each day the expense in the several departments, but without particulars. it shows also the court's itinerary and the Dames of the most important guests entertained. Imperfect, ending with 11 June. Endorsed on the roll are: (a) memoranda of the entry of various servants into the household and (b) the " compotus mortui stauri " or accompt of the household stock, game and other articles consumed, rendered by the above-mentioned Robert Wodehous. The particulars of these expenses from stock and presents in kind, etc., are entered in the margin of the roll. Vellum Roll, 39 ft. 6 in. x 1 ft. 3.5 in. A.D. 1325. Bought by Sir Thomas Phillipps from Payne the bookseller (Phillipps MS. 13,647, sale-cat. 1898, lot 324). From the Farnborough Fund.
