Accompt-Roll of John Pickarell, Cofferer of the Hoiischold and Paymaster of the Works to Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset; 1 Apr. 2 Edw. VI. [1548] -7 Oct. 5 Edw. VI. [1551]. Rendered to the Court of Augmentations, 18 May, 1553, and signed by Sir Richard Sackville, Chancellor, and Sir Francis Mildmay, one of the Surveyors of the Court. it contains particulars of sums spent on the Protector's buildings at Somerset Place [old Somerset House], Syon, Banbury, Woolfall [al. Wolf Hall in Great Bedwin, co. Wilts], Odiham and Reading, also of sums disbursed for his household, amounting in all to about £50,000. Paper Roll, 32 ft. x 1 ft. 31 in. A.D. 1553. Probably belonged to Sir John Fenn, editor of the Paston Letters (sale-cat. 1866, lot 460) ; Phillipps MS. 32,924 (sale-cat. 1898, lot 338). From the Farnborough Fund.
