FIRST AFGHAN WAR: Maps, plans, and views relating to the campaign of the so-called 'Army of the Indus' under Lt.-Gen. Sir John Keane, K.C.B., G.C.H., at the beginning of the First Afghan War, 21 Nov. 1838-1840, n.d., together with maps of Poona and its neighbourhood, 10 Sept. 1833, and of Kabul, 1842 (the latter printed). Mostly dated and signed by the officers concerned, whose names, together with the individual subjects of the various maps, are given in the Index to the present Catalogue. Two maps, formerly placed at the end of the collection when it was bound circ. 1846 (watermark), are now missing. For an account of the campaign see Sir J. W.
