From The British Museum Catalogue of Additions to the Manuscripts 1936-1945, 2 vols (London: British Museum, 1970), I, no. Eg. 3278:
'BEDE, ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY: a single leaf containing the epitaph on Wilfrid and parts ofthe preceding and following text (Bk. V, c. 20), in Latin, written in England in the middle of the 11th century. Beg. 'conualuit igitur'; ends 'consecrata est, aedificium' (see Venerabilis Baedae Opera Historica, ed. C. Plummer, i, 1896, pp. 329-331). The text differs from Plummer's in interpolating the date of Wilfrid's death (12 October); the omission of 'scriptum' before the epitaph makes it impossible to assign the fragment to either of Plummer's families M and C. Vellum; ff. ii + 1. 295 mm. x 195 mm. Mid xi cent. Written 29 lines to the page. Written in a fine regular hand of the period, resembling in style manuscripts of the second quarter of the 11th century connected with Winchester, e.g. the later part of the Ramsey Benedictional (Paris, Bibl. Nat. MS. latin 987). In writing personal names, the Saxon characters p and p are employed. Rubrics in silver, green and red. A corrector has added 're' before 'ceptus' in l. 11 and deleted 're' in the previous line, and has also supplied 'i' in 'sui' in line 12. Formerly Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (inventory no. 67205). From the Farnborough Fund.'
