COURT-BOOK OF DULLINGHAMS MANOR in Burwell, co. Camb., containing draft records, in Latin, of courts baron; 3 Feb. 1681/2-1 June 1702. The lord of the manor was Sir John Cropley, 2nd Bart., and the steward Samuel Burrough (signature on ff. 23b, 26, 29). At f. 29b is a contemporary index of names. Other records of Burwell in the Department include court rolls of Tiptofts manor, 1650-1656 (Add. Roll 58885). Paper; ff. iv + 29. Quarto. 1682-1702. Belonged to Frederick Arthur Crisp, F.S.A. (armorial bookplate f. iii; Sotheby's sale-cat. 4-6 Dec. 1922, lot 204), and later to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum, inventory no. 76262 (see ff. i, ii, 1). The drawing of a helmeted head (f. iv) and list of names from Domesday Book (f. iv b) are probably by Crisp. Vellum binding, circ. 1900; the arms of the Crisp family are stamped on the back (cf. Add. MS. 45387).
