On f. 88b is a contemporary copy of a letter, in English, from one John Porter to the receiver and cellarers of Glastonbury, circ. 1471-1478, relating to some 'sheres other wyse y called pylers of yryn', apparently due to the Duke of Clarence. Inside the front cover of the MS. was fastened an 18th cent. copy of a table of the acreages of King's Sedgemoor, in Somerset, allotted to the adjoining manors, circ. 1626-1630 (ff. x-xi), and on f. xiii is a 19th cent. list of the manors formerly belonging to the Abbot of Glastonbury. Vellum; ff. xiv + 291. 312 mm.× 235 mm. XIV cent., with additions to XVI cent. Gatherings of 12 leaves, with occasional catchwords, except for vi20, viii16, x10, xiii8, xxii10, xxiv10, xxv4, xxvi16 (ii lacks 10 and 12, vi lacks 1-4, viii lacks 14 and 15, x lacks 10, xv lacks 8 and 12, xxii lacks 9 and 10, xxiv lacks 6). There is a 15th cent. numbering of the manors from i-xxxv, omitting the numbers viii, xxix and xxx, and there is a 19th cent. pencil pagination i-xiv + 1-581. Binding, 17th cent., of white vellum with a gilt device on the covers. Belonged to John Rolle, Baron Rolle 1796, d. 1842 (armorial bookplate, f. ii), and afterwards to his widow Louisa Barbara, daughter of Robert George William Trefusis, 17th Baron Clinton. Inserted as ff. vii-viiib is a letter to her from George Oliver, the Roman Catholic divine and historian, 21 Oct. 1852, thanking her for the loan of the MS. Lord and Lady Rolle, having no direct heirs, left their estates to members of Lady Rolle's family and the MS. was in the sale of part of the library of her great-nephew, Charles John Robert Hepburn-Stuart- Forbes-Trefusis, 21st Baron Clinton (Sotheby's sale-cat., 2 July 1946, lot 217).
